Symtech Racing at the Barum Czech Rally Zlin with the Subaru Impreza STR10
Symtech Racing will be at the Barum Rally next weekend in Zlin, with Ukrainian Rally Champion Yuri Protasov. The driver from Kiev is contesting the entire European Championship this year, and he already ran under the Symtech Racing banner on the Geko Ypres Rally at the end of June.Wim De Boeck (Symtech Racing): "We had the pleasure of working with Yuri for the first time last year on the Dolnoslaski Rally in Poland. He enjoyed a very good opening day but then went off the road on the second day. Ypres this year was a lot better for him and he was able to keep up a good pace, even setting times that were occasionally not far off the frontrunners. His objective is to learn as much as possible this year and his approach will be no different on the Barum Rally. His objective there is simply to get to the finish."
Symtech Racing has already built the first examples of the Subaru Impreza STR10 and managed to win the Rally Poland overall recently with local hero Kajetan Kajetanowicz. This marked the first international victory for a 2010 Group N Subaru Impreza.
The Barum Czech Rally Zlin gets underway on Friday afternoon with a superspecial stage through the streets of Zlin. Two full days of rallying then follow. The finish is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, with Protasov's Subaru Impreza STR10 carrying competition number 34.
