Stobart spice it up with international flavour in Corsica
This weekend the Stobart VK M-Sport Ford rally team will be displaying their true international colours when no fewer than five different nationalities contest the 13th round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Rallye de France – Tour de Corse, under the Stobart banner.Team sponsor Stobart Group has extensive continental European capability and is serviced by the Company’s long-established International Division which operates over 100 dedicated vehicles. Stobart International’s highly effective structure places them far beyond the ‘ordinary’ service, offering a quicker, more efficient service that is specially tailored to match the requirements of its exceptionally diverse and extremely demanding customer base. This diversity spans across the board to Stobart’s motorsport arm which this weekend sees crew members from England, Scotland, Ireland, Norway and Finland contesting Rallye de France all using Stobart entered Ford Focus RS WRC cars.
The short history of Stobart Motorsport in the WRC has seen a total of 10 different nationalities compete under its name and the team is proud to uphold this multi-national representation which has been highly influenced by the practices of its primary sponsor Stobart Group.
The team has always stuck to its English roots by supporting Cumbrian-based Matthew Wilson for the past four years and it has branched out tremendously to support numerous European drivers; including Jari-Matti Latvala to his current position in the BP Ford Abu Dhabi works outfit.
