JAS Motorsport to support customers on Intercontinental Rally Challenge
Italian firm JAS Motorsport, Honda's official partner in circuit racing and rallying, will provide its acclaimed Racing Service on at least three rounds of the IRC this year: Sardinia (I) from June 4-6, Ypres (B) from June 24-26 and Barum Rally Zlin (CZ) from August 27-29.An extra help from JAS Motorsport for the Honda R3 customers in IRC
The Racing Service consists of a support truck filled with spare parts and dedicated engineers to help Honda customers make the most of their events. The presence of the support truck means that customers do not have to bring their own spares, and it also affords teams access to a wide variety of parts that can cater for most eventualities.
Not only that, but Honda customers can also benefit from the expertise of the staff from JAS Motor sport – the team that designed and built the Honda Civic Type R R3. The JAS technicians will be on hand to answer any queries and give advice. Thanks to the Racing Service, customers can literally 'arrive and drive', without worrying about keeping track of spares.
Alessandro Mariani, the team principal of JAS Motor sport, commented: "When people run one of our cars, they are not just customers: instead they join the Honda family. In order to make life for our drivers easier, and to provide everything that their teams need, we are delighted to offer the Racing Service on at least three IRC events this year, and we are looking to add to that total if the demand is there. In the past, people have been very grateful for this service, and we are delighted to be able to offer it again."
Since bursting onto the international scene in 2007, the Honda Civic Type R R3 has been a frontrunner on the IRC two-wheel drive Cup, narrowly missing out on the title. The car, which has been consistently been developed to exploit the latest FIA Group R regulations, has also proved its capabilities on the prestigious Junior World Rally Championship as well as on various national championships all over the world. The Civic Type-R R3 engine is prepared by famed Japanese firm Mugen.
