Wilson honoured by Myerscough College
M-Sport Managing Director Malcolm Wilson OBE has been honoured in a ceremony at Preston’s Myerscough College, where he was awarded a College Fellowship to recognise his significant achievements in the motorsport industry.The BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team principal attended the Presentation of Awards Ceremony on Friday, along with students and their families, where he was formally welcomed as a Fellow of the College.
Myerscough College offers a foundation degree in motorsport and runs several rally cars as part of its teaching program, giving students hands-on experience of rally racing.
Over the years strong links have been forged between the college and M-Sport, where there are several former Myerscough students now in full-time employment.
Previous recipients of the Fellowship include former England and British Lions rugby captain Bill Beaumont CBE, ex-England football star Sir Tom Finney and Everton football manager David Moyes.
M-Sport Managing Director Malcolm Wilson OBE said:
“I am honoured to have been awarded this College Fellowship by Myerscough College. It is great to see so many students keen to get involved in motorsport, and rallying in particular. Motorsport has been my lifelong passion, so to be recognised for what I have achieved in my career so far is very gratifying.”
