ROLE OF FIESTA IN GLOBAL MOTORSPORT CONTINUES TO EXPAND
• Ford Fiesta participation in Pike's Peak, on July 19 already announced

• Now three Fiestas will compete in the "X Games", a growing cult event which includes a wide range of action sports

• As in Pike's Peak, Ford's entry will be made through the Swedish-based Olsbergs MSE team with all star drivers

• The X-Games Fiesta will be based on the European Fiesta Rallycross car, modified and adopted to the regulations of the US Rally Championship "Rally America"

Cologne, July 1, 2009 – The new Fiesta Rallycross cars have already created plenty of buzz in the enthusiast community with word of their North American motorsport debut in July’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado.

Now, the Swedish Olsbergs Motorsport Evolution (MSE) team will also compete in ESPN's X Games in Los Angeles, Calif., July 30 – August 2, 2009.

Olsbergs MSE is entering the event with the famous Swedish driver and Indy 500 winner Kenny Brack. The team will also field two Ford Fiestas for the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink Team with drivers Tanner Foust and Brian Deegan. All three Fiestas will be based on the European Fiesta Rallycross car and comply with Rally America Open Class specifications.

The X Games is an annual event with a focus on extreme action sports including Rallying. The Winter X Games are held early each year and the Summer X Games are usually held in August, both in the United States. Participants compete to win bronze, silver and gold medals. In addition to the two U.S.-based events, ESPN has held X Games competitions and demonstration events around the world including Dubai, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, Korea, Malaysia, Spain and China. The global franchise has also expanded its reach to Xgames.com, the definitive site for action sports fans.
