BRC takes Swift Sport Cup reins
Following a positive meeting with Suzuki GB, the MSA British Rally Championship has been given formal permission to run the Swift Sport Cup. Discussions took place regarding continued support for competitors and options are now being considered ahead of a final meeting with SGB scheduled for next Friday (20th Feb)

BRC Manager Mark Taylor said, "Acknowledging that Suzuki GB; along with the industry generally, is faced with economic pressures, the meeting was very supportive of a continued Swift Sport Cup, which could deliver close and exciting competition in controlled one make cars, with on-event technical support, media and TV, incentives and prizes. All parties agreed to work together in creating a viable package and will reconvene next Friday to finalise the details. The Swift Sport Cup is on for 2009, and I am confident that the final package will be a worthwhile proposition for existing and new competitors."

It is expected that final details will be released at the end of next week. The final package will be available for a maximum of 12 competitors and there are still Swift Sport Cup rally cars available for the 2009 Championship.
