Ford dominates Swedish Rally with podium clean sweep
Ford today claimed a clean sweep of the podium places with the Focus RS World Rally Car on the Swedish Rally, second round of the FIA World Rally Championship.Jari–Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila led from the opening morning to win by 58.3sec for the BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team. In so doing, 22–year–old Latvala became the youngest ever winner of a WRC round.
Team–mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen finished second.
Gigi Galli and Giovanni Bernacchini took third for the Stobart team on only their second outing for Ford’s second squad.
Reigning world champion Ford leads the manufacturers’ standings by 10 points.
Hirvonen leads the drivers series by six points with Latvala tied for second.
