Rally Norway 2007.
The Season of 2007 was the first time the Rally of Norway had been included in the WRC. The rally slowly turned into a Ford exhibition with three top Ford drivers on the podium. Mikko Hirvonen, Marcus Gronholm and Henning Solberg were the three Ford drivers on the podium all in the Ford Focus RS 06.

The rising star Mikko Hirvonen was surprisingly at the top of the leader board at the end of the long weekend. Marcus Gronholm his teammate was closing in on Mikko throughout the last day of the rally and finished less than 14 seconds behind him.

For Mikko Hirvonen this was his second rally win but his first with Sebastian Loeb and Marcus Gronholm competing throughout the whole of the rally. With Marcus and Mikko taking first and second this meant that BP-Ford overtook Citroen Total in the Manufacturers title.

The Ford men are also leading the drivers championship. The most exciting battle throughout the rally was between the two Solberg brothers Henning and Petter, with Petter settling for fourth as he could not match the pace that Henning was setting.

Jari-Matti Latvala another Ford Focus RS driver managed to complete the weekend finishing 5th. Gigi Galli managed to battle (but not punch) his way into the top eight points scorers by finishing 6th overall, the highest placed non-works driver he was fortunate to benefit from other drivers misfortunes. Daniel Carlsson finished a credible 7th but was not very happy with that. Finally Jan Kopecky came 8th.

Loeb sadly completed the weekend in a disappointing 13th losing first place in the WRC championship and is now 3rd. The amazing Andreas Mikkelson also in a Ford Focus and now with Stobart sponsorship finished 10th overall in the rally. Andreas is 18 years old and rather bizarrely is not allowed drive on the road sections in Norway, as he is too young. Andreas stalled on the super special stage but despite this embarrassment came away with an excellent result.
